An arresting time for UK Veterans Hearing Help

  Posted April 29, 2019

Colin and his avid helper weathered the high winds and cold temperatures to join the Gloucester and Worcester Railway at their event in the Cotswold.  A 1940s style weekend with both ladies and gentleman in period attire and uniforms turning back time to how life was in the Cotswold.  Despite the adverse weather conditions, many came along to take a nostalgic trip on a Steam Train to several other sites which have been set up around the Toddington and Cheltenham area or enjoyed the on-site entertainment by the Blue Bells and host singer.

A very special appearance by actors representing Churchill, Montgomery and most important of all, King George VI who gave a resounding speech on the war footing that Great Britain had entered into.  King George walked around the marque and took the opportunity of giving a “Royal” endorsement of UK Veterans Hearing Help saying that our Veterans needed all the support available particularly those with medical conditions that have changed their way of life.  Further special visitors came to say hi to the UK Vets team including Laurel and Hardy who Colin met at a previous show last year. The highlight of the show was a visit from a passing Spitfire that gave a short display before waving goodbye to the crowd with a wing wave.

Colin with the help of Bridget, took the opportunity to talk and advice Veterans on the valuable service that UK Veterans Hearing Help give to those with a hearing loss resulting from military Service.  Many took the opportunity of seeking help and have taken up the challenge of utilising the RBL Veterans Hearing Fund through UKVHH and, have started the journey for a much improved quality of life.

Colin will be out and about again this coming week with the VE Celebrations at Cannock Museum.  If you happen to be there, please come and say ‘hi’ and, if you are suffering from a hearing loss caused by military Service, find out how UK Veterans Hearing Help can give you first class support with care and after-care after all, you deserve it.
