UK Veterans Hearing Help go Hillbilly style in Ashford and Folkestone Military Show

  Posted June 3, 2019

Colin and his trusty assistant went along to join in the nostalgic event in Ashford and Folkestone and took the opportunity of meeting up with fellow charities and organisations that supported Veterans in the local area.  Amongst the loud bangs from the enactors dressed in World War II uniforms, firing off their weapons and mounted guns, an American Settlers village was set up to entertain the crowds with scenes from yesteryear.

Such a great weekend with the opportunity of meeting Veterans from the local RBL Care and Support Village as well as many who attended the event and, were suffering from a hearing loss as a result of military Service.  LIttle did we realise that there were three twin-seater Spitfires rehearsing overhead for the forthcoming D Day event and with such fine weather, they added to the occasion and ambience generated by many traders and stands.  Furthermore, Colin was able to meet up with a local charity who were keen to take on the first class service that UKVHH offered and establish together with the RBL village, a much needed facility for Veterans in the area.

Colin’s next visit is to the RAF Cosford Air Show and this will be followed up by many others so that the service that UKVHH provide is available to so many other Veterans.
