UK Veterans Hearing Help take to the air

  Posted May 22, 2019

To complete the partnership visits, Ben and Colin from the team visited the Northern region Combat Stress coordinators in Ayr, Scotland to give a personal presentation to and a better understanding of what UKVHH can do to help in the recovering of those suffering from PTSD as well as a hearing problem.  After an early flight, bus journey and a train trip out into the Scottish countryside, they were met by Michelle O’Brien who, herself suffers from a hearing loss and introduced to the team.

Both Colin and Ben gave a very relaxed overview on how we can work together to ensure that those suffering from a hearing loss as well as PTSD were given the highest level of treatment thereby ensuring that they are well on that long journey of recovery to an acceptable quality of life.  We took the opportunity of meeting some of the veterans attending the centre and were able to help several during the visit including the local taxi driver who took us to Hollybush House.

An excellent visit in what was a very bright and sunny day which left our intrepid travellers a bit jaded due to the early journey and late return however, one that was most beneficial and now the whole of Combat Stress is being supported including Northern Ireland, the NW, NE and Scotland.
